If you have obtained your “empadronamiento” (town residency) you can get married by one of the registrars or the Mayor of Tarifa in the following locations:
· The local registry office
· The Town hall
· The Castle
If you do not have your empadronamiento you can get married:
· In Gibraltar at the registry office, and have a blessing in Tarifa with our interfaith minister in any language you require.
· In your home country, and then have your blessing* in Tarifa.
*Blessings can take place anywhere in Tarifa. Our most popular choices are the beach, the Chaple on the top of the La Pena mountain or the wedding reception venue itself. It is most common nowday's for mixed or non-religious couples to do this. The civil ceremony can be performed before or after the blessing.
On the day the minister arrives with your tailor made wedding ceremony and the registry book, you will also receive a certificate as you would with a civil ceremony.
If you are having a Catholic ceremony, you can get married in one of the beautiful churches in Tarifa town or the beautiful Santuario in the National Park, with views of the beach and overlooking Tarifa (10 minute drive).
